Literary Competition Guidelines recommended by the Australian Society of Authors:

'Entry fees are acceptable so long as they are in proportion to the prizes on offer. A $5 fee is appropriate where the prize is more than $1000. Entry fees of more than $20 are unacceptable.'

Advertisements should include presentation details, prize details and judges' names, date results will be publicly announced, closing date, publication plans, fees to be paid for published entries and importantly - name, phone number and street address of organisers (be cautious if only a P.O. Box address is given).

Writers who access competition details through links displayed on this site should gather as much information as possible and satisfy themselves that they are comfortable entering the competition. Musings of An Aussie Writer provides this list as a service only and takes no responsibilty to any part of the competitions listed or in how they're run.
